2017 Preservation Awards

48th Annual Preservation Awards Ceremony

Monday, May 22nd, 2017

Our 48th Annual Preservation Awards Ceremony was especially relevant this year as ACHF celebrates it’s 50th Anniversary. In addition to the wide range of rehabilitation and adaptive reuse projects that were showcased, a special Grassroots Preservation award was presented to Robert Gamble, who in 1967 wrote two influential letters to the Athens-Banner Herald in opposition of the threatened demolition of the Church-Waddel-Brumby House.  Now the home of the Athens Welcome Center, the Church-Waddel-Brumby house stands as the centerpiece of ACHF’s mission and history.

We’d like to thank our 2017 award winners, event sponsors, and everyone who attend the ceremony for helping make it a great evening!
