This event on Dec. 15, 2016 at the Alpha Gamma Delta House on Milledge Avenue, was a special “thank-you” to our most loyal supporters.
ACHF Founders’ Day Proclamation Breakfast
On the morning of March 16, the community came together on ACHF’s 50th birthday for a catered reception where the preservation movement began – at the Church-Waddel-Brumby House (now the Athens Welcome Center). Visit the page here.
Golden Jubilee Dinner
This dinner and program on Sunday, June 4, will celebrate the 50-year history of the Foundation, with an eye forward to the next 50 years. Rabbit Box Collaboration
Do you have a fun, frightening, or otherwise unique story about a building, piece of land, or any other space in Athens that needs to be told? ACHF is collaborating with the monthly Rabbit Box storytelling event to tell tales of our built history. The event July 12, 2017, is titled, “If These Walls Could Talk.” We need a few participants who are willing to speak on stage for up to 8 minutes. Rabbit Box coaches their selected storytellers on good technique, so this will be a learning experience, as well! For more information or to submit a name: Kristen Morales, email@example.com
ACHF at 50
From June 5 through Aug. 4, the UGA Special Collections Libraries will present an exhibition drawing from materials in the Athens-Clarke Heritage Foundation Papers housed at the Hargrett Rare Book and Manuscript Library at the University of Georgia. Opening Reception is scheduled for midday on Wednesday, July 19th.
Mid-Century Modern Tour of Homes
This two-day tour (Oct. 6-7) kicks off with a Friday evening tour and cocktail party. It continues Saturday with a new selection of homes and will take place in conjunction with a lecture on “The Art of the Retro” – mid-century modern architecture, furniture, interior design and art.
50th Anniversary Heritage holiday gala
Our annual holiday tour returns in December 2017! We will showcase the Boulevard neighborhood in its holiday finery and cap a year of special celebrations as we look forward to the next 50 years.
