ACHF Founders’ Day Proclamation Breakfast
On the morning of March 16, the community will come together on ACHF’s 50th birthday for a catered reception where the preservation movement began – at the Church-Waddel-Brumby House (now the Athens Welcome Center). A special History of Preservation Tour will debut at this event.
This black tie dinner and program, planned for spring 2017, celebrates the 50-year history of the Foundation, with an eye forward to the next 50 years.
Rabbit Box Collaboration
Because Rabbit Box fosters the art of storytelling in Athens, ACHF will be partnering with the group in mid-2017 to share stories of Athens from the late 1960s. It was a tumultuous time, and we will have some storytellers on hand to share what it was like.
50th Anniversary Heritage holiday gala
Our annual tour returns in December 2017! We will showcase an Athens neighborhood in its holiday finery and cap a year of special celebrations as we look forward to the next 50 years.
Several exhibits, projects and tours highlight our beautiful city and its history.
Places in Peril
This program will be advocating for Athens’ threatened historic resources that need attention through articles, tours and lectures.
Historic Photo Database
Throughout the year, we will be digging into our archival material to celebrate and solve mysteries of history.
ACHF at 50
From June 5 through Aug. 4, the UGA Special Collections Libraries will present an exhibition drawing from materials in the Athens-Clarke Heritage Foundation Papers housed at the Hargrett Rare Book and Manuscript Library at the University of Georgia.
