The Athens-Clarke Heritage Foundation invites the public to the 46th Annual Historic Preservation Awards ceremony on Monday, June 1, at the historic Morton Theatre in downtown Athens on Washington Street. The program starts at 6:30 p.m., followed by a reception at 2011 award-winner Ted’s Most Best. This event is free and open to the public.
Part of ACHF’s mission is to increase awareness of the value of historic resources to the Athens community. The annual awards play an important role in fulfilling that mission by highlighting the projects, and more importantly the people behind them, that keep the town’s historic fabric vibrant. Attendees will be treated to striking before and after photos of significant rehabilitation projects, discoveries made during the projects, and the stories—there’s ALWAYS a story—behind those projects. In addition, the ceremony recognizes organizations and individuals that have made significant contributions to historic preservation and local heritage in Athens-Clarke County, including long-term maintenance of historic properties, publications and programs, and community revitalization. Please join the Athens-Clarke Heritage Foundation on June 1st at the Morton Theater as we celebrate the accomplishments of fellow Athenians!
For more information on the Awards program, please contact Amy Kissane, ACHF Executive Director, at 706-353-1820 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
