ACHF held its 2010 Annual Meeting and Preservation Awards on Monday, June 7, at the historic Morton Theatre as part of the Morton’s Centennial Celebration. Joyce Reifsteck, Special Events Coordinator for the Morton Theatre Centennial Celebration, welcomed the 150 member crowd and recounted the Heritage Foundation’s 1976 Tour of Homes which featured a performance at the then abandoned Morton to draw attention to the historic theatre’s condition.
ACHF President Jeff Bishop and Executive Director Amy Kissane then welcomed the crowd and kicked off the Annual Meeting with an overview of the year’s accomplishments, including the development of a Future Plan.
The Foundation then said thank you and goodbye to four trustees rolling off the Board: Brigitta Hangartner (2007-2010), Marvin Nunnally (2004-2010), Rachel Sleppy (2007-2010), and Lee Smith (2007-2010).
Tom Wilfong, ACHF Trustee and Nominating Committee Chair, presented the slate of officers for this coming year, which starts July 1.
Tom, who also serves as the Foundation’s Development Committee chair, spoke to the Foundation’s financial needs and the possibility of a future capital campaign to establish an endowment.
Thanks to everyone who attended and helped us kick off a great next year!
