Outgoing Trustee Profiles
“In 2007, having recently opened Cine, Brigitta obviously didn’t have enough to do and agreed to join the Board. Brigitta brought a passion for quality and creativity and daring to be different and the vision that led her to create Cine, now an Athens icon. Brigitta has been a devoted and generous trustee and capped her tenure on the Board this year with the Look at That symposium.”
“When Rachel joined the Board in 2007, she had just finished serving as the President of the Lyndon House Arts Center and was chairing the Cultural Subcommittee for the revision of the Comprehensive Plan. She brought with her a good understanding of local government and an appreciation for all the unique businesses and organizations that make Athens special.”
“Lee brought an important perspective to the Board, one of someone who has a passion for historic buildings and works on a day-to-day basis with historic properties and knows the plusses, and sometimes minuses, of the regulations and processes that guide that work. Lee has always offered a thoughtful insight on issues.”
“Marvin’s been on the Board since 2004 and is finishing his 6th year. But, in fact, Marvin’s been on the Board for 12 of the last 13 years. He went off for a year and then we brought him back. So, not sure WHAT a Foundation without Marvin is. Marvin’s history with and involvement in the community is a huge asset, he’s always there when we need him, but, more than anything, we’ll miss his upbeat personality and his ALWAYS smiling face. Don’t go too far, Marvin.” |
